TITLE: Project Engineer I - Liquids
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Engineering Director-Liquids
JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, the Project Engineer is responsible for multiple projects including process engineering, equipment design, project management, startup, and inspection; ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide project management efforts from conception through final startup of multiple projects by meeting contract timelines, tracking and minimizing project costs, assuring proper design and purchase of equipment, specification of purchased components, checking drawings, and having thorough documentation; ensure accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s) for assigned projects by modifying existing drawings given as a starting basis.
- Travel as required to support project execution. Provide technical, field assistance, and/or training for customers in maintenance, installation, operation, and startup of Liquids processes.
- Perform various engineering calculations and analyses related to process design and equipment sizing and selection.
- Provide engineering support to customers, and to the sales, R&D, and aftermarket teams for Liquids processes.
- Respond to requests and work integrally with internal and external customers to provide the most efficient design to meet the project requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 0-3 years related experience
- Proficient in project scheduling, tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrates professional integrity and ethics.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical and commercial contracts.
- Must be able to communicate in English fluently. Ability to communicate in a second language – European or Asian languages preferred but not required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; able to understand and follow oral and written instructions; communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
- Strong Microsoft office skills.
- Required knowledge in AutoCAD.
- Preferred knowledge in Autodesk Vault.
- Ability to travel on an as needed basis – domestically or internationally and up to 25% of the time in office and industrial plant environments.
